Camp Comeca RENEWAL body, mind and spirit
The renewal of Camp Comeca continues! People continue to give to the Camp Comeca Campaign.
Churches are making pledges and donations. Many renovations and upgrades are being completed.
The Great Plains Camp Board and the Comeca Site Council are excited about renewing Camp Comeca and working as a team. Sara Shaw, our awesome conference camp coordinator with a master’s degree in camp ministry, and her assistant Josey Hoyt, have been directed to lead all summer camps while the site council looks for a new camp director. These changes of financial support, community support and leadership have brought a renewed spirit to Camp Comeca.
We are heading into annual conference with some donations being given to the campaign there. Our pledge amount at this date is $698,606.69.
There have been some creative ways to fundraise these last few months. A Comeca Concert was held in Ogallalla in April hosted by the Rev. Chuck and Roberta Rager. Several churches quartets, pianists, and choirs from Hershey, Sutherland, Grant, Ogallalla and Imperial United Methodist churches shared their talents in an incredible concert and raised $1,754.50.
And ... another bull has been donated to Camp Comeca!
